This course unit provides essential information on the Portuguese social situation after 1960, as well as tools and analytical perspectives on its major evolutionary trends mainly in fields of population, society, economics and culture.

Students are expected:
1.    To identify the main evolution trends of Portuguese population after 1960, from the viewpoint of its main dynamics, growth and age structure;
2.    To know the major evolution trends and factors of the economic, social and political development in Portugal since 1960;
3.    To analyse the main changes in the Portuguese economics, social and cultural, since 1960.
