The Orientation Seminar I has one main goal: to prepare a PhD dissertation project. The student must choose a teacher who will be the scientific supervisor of her/his research work. Throughout the semester, she/he conducts research in order to compose a PhD dissertation project, that is, a document that must contain the provisional title of the dissertation, its theme and justification, the objectives to be achieved, the theoretical framework and methodology of the research, the expected results, the provisional index, the schedule and the list of main bibliography on which the investigation is based, and other information considered relevant.
