Starting from an analysis of the origins of the European integration process, the course covers the various areas of the European Union policies. Having the European Union development as reference framework, the course seeks to assess and reflect on their various impacts, both in terms of economic and monetary integration, both within the economic and social cohesion.

Given the new challenges facing the European Union, the course aims to provide a comprehensive and dynamic approach of the European integration process. It seeks to encourage debate about the European situation, encouraging students to develop skills of analysis and reflection considering a set of economic variables, political and institutional sharp mutation.

The program of this course is focused on the process of European integration, in particular, in its historical, economic, political and institutional issues. European policies are specially relevant. Through a careful reading of the adopted bibliography, students shall have a clear identification with the content provided for this course, which can be divided in seven parts.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a final digital test, Global e-folio (e-folio G) at the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final exam (100%).
