The course unit aims to achieve the following objectives:
•To ascertain the level of already acquired skills and vocabulary.
•To carry out activities directed at specific skill areas.
•To apply appropriate linguistic norms and registers to a range of specified contexts.
•To perform tasks by applying skills of a "social agent".
•To discover aspects of the French culture that can be applied to those of the home culture.

The curricular unit French I corresponds to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for the Languages, as defined by the European Council:
•Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
•Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
•Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
•Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a final digital test, Global e-folio (e-folio G) at the end of the semester (60%).
