This curricular unit aims to provide students with a space for analysis, reflection of mechanisms associated with the user experience (UX, user experience). UX assessment practices will be studied and analyzed. It will also be reflected on how user experience principles can contribute to more usable and user-friendly IT platforms. Emerging trends in the area, such as Alexa, Siri, Cortana, Bixby virtual assistants and how they can contribute to the user experience, will also be addressed in this course.

It is intended that, at the end of this course, the student has acquired the following skills:
1. Understand the impact that the user experience has on the development and specification of computer platforms, in order to make them more friendly;
2. Analyze computer platforms in terms of usability, design principles and support for user friendly experiences;
3. Identify, classify and integrate mechanisms of evaluation (objective and subjective) of the user experience and its relationship with computer platforms;
4. Identify and analyze the potential of emerging trends in the area and how they can enhance the user experience.

1. User Experience (UX): Concepts: marketing, usability, functionality, structure of information and information on the web.
2. User Experience Assessment Mechanisms (UX): Concepts: focus groups, user experience questionnaires.
3. Application and analysis of web platforms for usability principles and support for user friendly experience.
4. Emerging trends: analysis of virtual assistants as enhancers of customized content and adapted to the user for a better user experience.

Evaluation is made on individual basis and it involves the coexistence of two modes: continuous assessment (60%) and final evaluation (40%). Further information is detailed in the Learning Agreement of the course unit.
