The syllabus of the curricular unit German II includes a broad range of current topics with respect to the German speaking countries, such as everyday situations and professional life. Linguistic competencies at the A1.2 level are sistematically developed in accordance with the definition of the A1.2 level in the CEFR for languages. The materials that are used in this unit are especially designed for the A1.2 level.

 

  1. Developing linguistic resources.
  2. Developing oral and written competences.
  3. Developing oral and written production.
  4. Developing pragmatic competences.

The curricular unit German II corresponds to the level A1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages as defined by Council of Europe:

•             Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.

•             Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.

•             Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

 

Contents

The syllabus of the curricular unit German II includes a broad range of current topics with respect to the German speaking countries, such as everyday situations and professional life. Different types of texts are used to explore the topics and to sistematically train the four linguistic competencies (listening, speaking, writing and reading skills) in the target language. Competencies are sistematically developed with respect to vocabulary and to grammatical structures. The main topics that are addressed in this curricular unit are closely related to daily activities and needs of the students, both on a professional and a personal level, so that students can be integrated into a German speaking community.

Acquisition of competencies of German at the A1.2 level of the CEFR.

E-learning

The mandatory evaluation method is continuous assessment.
Continuous Assessment:
– 40%: work carried out throughout the semester, corresponding to two e-Folios (e-Folio A and e-Folio B), submitted via the virtual classroom.
– 60%: Completion of a final written assignment, referred to as the e-Folio Global.

Requirement for enrollment: some language skills of German at the A1.1 level or having passed the curricular unit German I.

Concerning assessment, written and oral expression will be evaluated.
