In this curricular unit the elementary concepts of the theory of errors are introduced and numerical methods are studied to approximate functions, calculate integrals and solve ordinary differential equations.
numerical analysis
approximation of functions
numerical integration
ordinary differential equations
approximation of functions
numerical integration
ordinary differential equations
At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to know the most important numerical methods (and its computational implementation) for the resolution of some mathematical problems of difficult analytical treatment.
- Introduction to the theory of erros
- Approximation of functions
- Numerical calculation of integrals
- Numerical solution of ordinary differential equations

E-learning
Evaluation is made on individual basis and it involves the coexistence of two modes: continuous assessment (60%) and
final evaluation (40%). Further information is detailed in the Learning Agreement of the course unit.
