This course addresses the cultural diversity in educational settings and the development of intercultural perspectives for action in education. From a cultural perspective, special attention is given to the analysis, conceptions and educational practices in contemporary social groups, as well as the following topics: the process of socialization, acculturation, race, ethnicity, cultural discontinuities, immigration and education and cultural influences in the processes learning.

The study, discussion and reflection will be headed  toward helping students to develop a cultural awareness about educative issues and to support their educational performances from an intercultural perspective.

  • Analyze emerging educational issues, from a cultural perspective.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a final digital test, Global e-folio (e-folio G) at the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final exam (100%).
