This CU aims to put into practice the exercise of Computer Engineering knowledge, potentially focusing on Web technology, through an internship or the construction of a specific research or development project, to be implemented preferably in real work contexts and whose final product materializes in a dissertation (research project) or a report (development project). It must configure the identification of new problems and raise, in the conceptual and praxeological plan, the search for creative answers and adjusted to professional contexts.

It is expected that the student when completing this course unit will be able to:
1. Critically analyze research / development / intervention contexts in the field of computer engineering;
2. Conceive, implement and evaluate concrete situations in an internship environment or research and development projects in the field of computer engineering;
3. Develop conceptual instrumentation and methodologically adjusted to the development of the research-development internship or project;
4. Write critical documentation about the internship or project developed, integrating all the elements produced in a final document (scientific dissertation, project report or internship report.

The diversity of potential contexts for carrying out the dissertation, project or internship work, with the consequent variation in professional practices, advises a high degree of openness in the programmatic topics, which will be defined / clarified as the student builds and implements your performance. There are, however, a few topics to focus on:
1. Observation and analysis of contexts, target audiences and application domains of computer engineering intervention.
2. Development of internship, research or development projects.
3. Development of methodologies and strategies for requirements analysis, design and implementation of solutions in the field of computer engineering.
4. Operationalization of research and development methodologies and strategies.
5. Writing of scientific, academic and professional texts.

E-learning

Evaluation is made on individual basis and it involves the coexistence of two modes: continuous assessment (60%) and final evaluation (40%). Further information is detailed in the Learning Agreement of the course unit.

The students are supposed to be proficient in Portuguese language.
