a) Produce an essay on the state of the art relating to the theme of the thesis project, in the area of ​​expertise chosen by the student, supported by a critical review of the relevant and updated scientific bibliography and making revisions and improvements suggested in the discussion of final work;

b) Substantiate the proposal for an original research plan for the doctoral thesis, specifying the problems to research, their initial theoretical conceptualization, their relevance for the advancement of theoretical and/or empirical knowledge, presenting the methodology planned for the study and a development schedule;

c) Write the thesis according to the discipline’s writing canons;

d) Prepare the public discussion of the thesis.

Doctoral students will develop their projects according to an individual work plan negotiated with the supervisor. The doctoral candidates will develop in-depth research on the topic under study. Consequently, the syllabus will depend on the topics under investigation, and specific analytical perspectives and bibliography will be provided within the scope of the orientation sessions.

Specific bibliography suited to each student's thesis.

 

The thesis will be evaluated in a public examination before a panel, according to the course regulations.

Teaching Method

Teaching methodologies essentially assume the nature of supervision, mentoring and organization and management of analysis and reflection. Students will be guided by a professor from the course who will be responsible for their supervision. Until the thesis is submitted work includes regular meetings between the doctoral candidate and the supervisor; participation in lectures, conferences, colloquiums and other meetings of a scientific nature; use of online databases and libraries; definition of a work schedule and a research plan; definition of a delivery schedule.
