This course unit defines the psychology scope. The major milestones of psychology history are introduced, different psychological methods are analyzed and different psychological research perspectives are listed as well as its expertise areas. Afterwards, some major themes are approached: learning, memory, intelligence, emotion and personality. The main issues on each theme are discussed along with different theories within a comparative perspective.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 or 3 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a
presence-based final exam (p-folio) in the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one
final presence-based exam (100%).
