This discipline promotes the scientific study of International Relations through its main concepts, theories, design, policy-making processes, instruments, monitoring & evaluation. The student should be able to apply the acquired knowledge to the current reality of international relations in its most relevant events, daily progress and impact on different national realities.

EU - Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP)

Students are expected to:
1. Understand the international competences of States reflected in its foreign policies;
2. Identify models of international interaction, including competences of international organizations;
3. Identify foreign policy as a sector policyexpressing the national interest;
4. Understand foreign policy decision making processes, actors and obstacles to its implementation;
5. Identify the main instruments of foreign policy, including diplomacy, propaganda and economic action as well as modalities of peaceful resolution of conflicts;
6. Understand the main factors conditioning the analysis of foreign policy, its monitoring & evaluation;
7. Analyse the European Union Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP)

3. National Interest and foreign policy;
4. Design and implementation of foreign policy;
5. Foreign policy instruments;

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a final digital test, Global e-folio (e-folio G) at the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final exam (100%).
