The aim of this course is to provide competences to students so that they can work in the human resource department of public or private organizations.
To attain this outcome, the course includes some relevant aspects of human resource management: its frame (the Portuguese system of labor relations; the characterization of the human resource function and of the human resource management); the psycho-sociological aspects of human resource management; its insertion in the organizational strategy; job analysis and job evaluation; recruitment and selection; performance appraisal; compensation and benefits.

Chapter 9 – Compensation and benefits.
Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a final digital test, Global e-folio (e-folio G) at the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final exam (100%).
