This course unit studies Latin literature and its contextualized Roman history. It is divided into 13 parts (ten lessons and three moments of reflection that privilege review, systematization and exercises), consisting of working proposals based on texts of the late Republic period (Caeser) and Latin literature of Augustus period (Tibullus, Propertius, Livy).

• Mastering advanced Latin grammar contents;
• Mastering vocabulary of specialized lexical fields;
• Establishing lexical relations between Latin and Portuguese;
• Reading unkown texts;
• Knowing the main features of Latin literature from the late Republic period and beginning of the principality.

• Systematization of the use of cum nec, quod, ut, quam;
• Grammar reviews of texts;
• Reading and studying texts by Caesar, Tibula, Propertius and Livy.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 or 3 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a presence-based final exam (p-folio) in the end of the semester (60%).
In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final presence-based exam (100%).
