The main objectives of the course are to provide in-depth theoretical and empirical knowledge and skills fundamental for analysis, reflection and application of intercultural communication. Thus, the syllabus content providers, firstly, the theoretical and conceptual tools necessary to understand the main theoretical perspectives and debates on intercultural communication. Secondly, it covers the skills and uses of intercultural competency in various contexts.
Thirdly, the uses and role of education in global intercultural communication will be examined.

This seminar has as major learning objectives:
1.  Critically analyze models of intercultural competence, specialist documents and bibliography, in order to properly develop strategies which, promote, mediate and assess competence in intercultural communication;
2. Develop professional awareness of spaces that encourage local and global intercultural communication skills;
3. Promote the use knowledge to develop appropriate strategies in promoting intercultural communication in particular diverse contexts.
